NOLA Juneteenth Festival began June 2020 in New Orleans.
After years of celebrating Juneteenth in the city it was time to grow and truly examine the state of liberation within the Black community while simultaneously promoting Unity & Cooperative Economics.
It has since grown into multi-production organization that centers wellness, economic development, and fosters community.

As a premier entertainment convention founded by RDCWorld, Dream Con unites enthusiasts globally to celebrate gaming, anime, sports, film, music & pop culture while fostering inclusivity & a sense of belonging. Dream Con continuously seeks to showcase diverse talents, amplify underrepresented voices in mainstream spaces, and redefine the landscape of fandom events.
Whitney Plantation’s 4th Juneteenth Festival
Join us for the 4th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival at Whitney Plantation on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission is FREE with registration to this special event that honors the history and culture of Black communities while celebrating freedom through education and community engagement.
Experience a day at Whitney Plantation, the only plantation museum in Louisiana dedicated to telling the story of slavery. You’ll enjoy live performances, engaging panel discussions, and educational storytelling that connects the past to the present. Stroll through our vibrant artist and artisan marketplace showcasing local Black artists and craftspeople and enjoy delicious offerings from some of the region’s best food trucks. Festival highlights:
Live musical performances by international singer Tara Alexander, The Maroons Band, and gospel soul artist Steven Perrilloux.
Panel discussion: Let Freedom Reign led by Dr. Nyoki Cosey-Brown, licensed clinical social worker with community leaders Ms. Leona Tate, a civil rights pioneer from New Orleans and one of the first Black children in the United States to desegregate a public school; and Mr. Michael McClanahan, president of the Louisiana State Conference of the NAACP, National Board Member, and President of the Baton Rouge NAACP branch.
Special appearance by celebrated chef and cookbook author Toya Boudy.
Screening of From Ring Shout to Easter Rock.Imagination Kids’ Zone featuring interactive activities with Louisiana Children’s Museum, Historic New Orleans Collection, St. John and St. Charles Parish Libraries, and other community partners.

Jambalaya Writers' Conference
The Jambalaya Writers’ Conference has celebrated over 20 years of readers and writers attending panels with esteemed authors and publishing agents. This program would not be possible without the support of the Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library. JWC continuously strives to promote art within the community. Writers and readers alike are encouraged to attend.

Discover works by local published authors at Author's Row! The Jones Creek Regional Branch Library will host this annual authors’ expo on Saturday, May 24. Author's Row provides a platform for budding as well as established local writers to gain exposure for their work. Authors from many different genres will be participating.
